True Federalism
True Federalism! The one English expression that best defines grassroots democracy.
The only system in governance that have the potential of uniting smaller societies into one large entity no matter their origin and belief,....
making it possible for all concerned to enjoy the benefits of a large population; big market, large army, better resource management by the owners, huge collection of potentials in diversity etc, and at the same time giving the individual concerned entities the opportunity to expresses themselves as-is without much stress or influence on the neighboring communities thereby lessening domineering tendencies and protecting the individual entities cultures and belief.
With True Federalism in place, Nigeria can afford to make English a second language just for outside world communications while everyone's mother tongue becomes his/her first language and language of learning. Think of it that you can be thought mathematics or Robotics in Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba language like it is done in India, Japan, China, etc.
With Fiscal Federalism, the whole of West Africa or even the African Continent can become one country.
THE QUESTION IS, WHY ARE WE NOT PRACTICING TRUE FEDERALISM ?
